Current Events Research Guide

So much can be learned reading through the day's news.  Keeping up with current events allows you to be an engaged participant of the world you live in.

Online sources of information are generally recognized as the way to stay the most up-to-date as electronic news and images can be disseminated instantly.  Newspapers and journals will allow for more in-depth discussion, and the ability to learn different perspectives and think critically about issues.

This guide introduces the researcher to some of the basic sources for current resources in the fields of business, finance and management.  If you need further assistance, please ask a librarian.

News Collection Websites

If you choose to keep up with current events online, you have many options when it comes to electronic news providers.  If you want the news come to you, most sites have RSS feeds or some kind of e-mail alert service that you can customize.  Here are just a few of my favorite sites for business news.

Print Sources

If you prefer to catch up on the news with a print source, the Fletcher Library has current subscriptions to a number of business news titles, as well as many more scholarly titles.  Journals are located on the west side of the 1st floor in the library.  Business titles can be found between call numbers HB-HJ, and daily newspapers are in the hanging folders against the wall.  Feel free to relax and flip through the latest issues!
