English 105: Advanced Composition
The following is an outline for English 105 library instruction. The instruction will be divided into three parts (an online exercise and two in-class sessions offered by librarians).

Requirements:
- Complete and submit the online Defining Research Needs Worksheet to your instructor and the librarian teaching your class
- Assignment is due one week prior to library class session (see instructor for date)
- Your instructor and librarian will assess and return your worksheet
First library class session: Locate Information
- Your worksheet is returned for helpful suggestions and search strategies
- Database searching

Second library class session: Synthesize Information
- Class activity Synthesis
- Cluster keyword into concept groups
- Name the concept groups
- Group activity
- Read, record and report on articles
- Organize information into concept groups
- Create and communicate results
- Benefits of synthesizing information
