A Reserve Request can be submitted using an Electronic Form or you may download the Paper Form (pdf) to fill out and submit at Circulation. Paper forms are also available at Circulation.
1. Include the name of the instructor who is responsible for the class, contact information like phone number and e-mail address, and class information.
2. Indicate when items should be removed from Reserve. All items are taken off Reserve at the end of the semester unless otherwise requested.
3. For non-digital Reserve items, select a loan period.
4. Include as much information about each item as possible (ex. book title, author, journal or source, edition, pages or chapters needed, etc.). Give the call number for library owned material.
5. Restrict your list to required reading only.
Requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Availability will be within 3 working days of request, with the following exceptions:
The library is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal materials while they are on Reserve.
Videos placed on Reserve may be removed if it has a media booking on it. All media bookings made on a video prior to being placed on Reserve will be honored. Bookings made on a video after it has been placed on Reserve will also be honored, but limited to the Reserve loan period indicated.
Beginning Spring semester 2006, photocopy materials submitted for Digital Reserve will be made available to students through Docutek ERes.
When processing is complete, you will receive an e-mail with the URL for your Docutek Course Page and a password that you will distribute to your students. You may place this link to the Course Page within BlackBoard; however students will still need to use the password to access documents.
In compliance with federal law, digital Reserve items from traditional copyrighted sources may not be placed on reserve for more than one semester without permission from the publisher. Nor may they be used to create, replace, or substitute for anthologies. For this reason, each chapter, article, etc., must be listed as a separate item and not linked with others in a “packet” format. For more information about our policy, please see our Copyright Restrictions for Reserves Policy . Copies of our policy are also available at Circulation.
The library will request copyright permission for items that have been on Reserve in a previous semester for your course. Please note that permission requests can take a long time and that the items cannot be made available to your students until permission has been received. Generally, permission needs to be requested each semester that the item is to be used.
