Fletcher Library Media provides a range of services and facilities:
The media collection consists of more than 10,000 items. These include DVD, VHS, and laserdisc videorecordings, compact discs, and interactive multimedia, plus more than 15,000 individual art slides. You may borrow items from the collection for use either on or off campus.
Videos circulate for one week to ASU West students, faculty, and staff; and for three days to other borrowers. Other items circulate for the same loan periods as books. Fines are charged for late returns. See Borrowing Media for more details on loan periods and fines.
Many feature films in the collection are videodisc format. Videodisc players are available for loan at the Circulation Desk. See Borrowing Small Media Equipment for additional details on this service.
The ASU Libaries Catalog lists all items in the collection except slides. Separate indexes provide access to slides in the collection. Reference Desk staff or the Media Librarian, deg farrelly, can assist you in searching for materials. The Library provides a Media Booking Service to support classroom instruction and research at ASU West. This service arranges for the use of videos from the Fletcher Library and the collections of other selected libraries including ASU Tempe, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona.

Carrels on the first floor, west-side provide equipment for viewing or listening to media in the library. These carrels include equipment for VHS videorecordings, videodiscs, compact discs, audio cassettes, phonograph records, and slides.
A viewing room on the third floor, east-side is equipped with a VCR and monitor. Small groups needing to review videos may reserve the room at the Circulation Desk.
The Library maintains a small pool of media equipment for short-term loan to ASU West students, faculty, and staff. This equipment includes camcorders, digital cameras, and laserdisc players. See Borrowing Small Media Equipment for details.
The Library purchases media to support the ASU West curriculum. Contact your Liaison Librarian or the Media Librarian deg farrelly for further information on requesting media purchases for the collection.
The Library provides facilties for limited media production. One carrel has equipment for recording to cassette from phonograph or CD. Cassette and video duplication, within copyright limitations, are also possible. A copystand and camera are available for shooting 35mm film from original hard copy. The Library will arrange licensing and pay necessary fees for use of downlinked satellite transmissions for academic support. Contact Media Librarian, deg farrelly, for further information on this service.
Within the Guidelines for Fair Use of Off-Air Videorecording, programs from the major national broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and Fox) can be recorded for academic use.
