Part of the ASU Libraries' of Banned Books Awareness Week activities.

In support of Banned Books Awareness Week 2007 (September 29th-October 6th) the ASU Libraries encourage you to Celebrate Your Freedom to Read.

This web-page, based on the the American Library Association's 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 1990-2000 list, promotes use of these titles by indicating ASU Libraries ownership. To learn more about an available title - including its current loan status - simply click on its accompanying check availability note. Some of these titles are partially available online through Google - look for the Google Book Search note.

Three titles (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Color Purple and Beloved) on this list are winners of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and several of the Harry Potter books have recognized by both the International Reading Association and the American Library Association.
