Overdue/Billables
- Overdue reminders are sent as a courtesy and failure to receive one, for
whatever reason, does not remove your responsibility for meeting each due
date or paying subsequent fines.
- Most items have a thirty (30) day grace period.
- A $10.00 fine plus replacement fee is charged for items not returned or
renewed within the grace period.
- Recalls, videos, and reserves do not have a grace period.
- Recall fines: $10.00 if not returned by recall due date.
- Video fines: $2.00 per day. Maximum fine $20.00.
- Reserve fines: $1.00 per hour, 24 hours per day. Maximum fine $20.00.
- The replacement fee is canceled if/when the item is returned undamaged.
Recalls
- Recall policies apply to all users and are in effect all year long including
breaks, sabbaticals, vacations, etc.
- The library sends a notice when an item checked out to you has been requested
by another borrower.
- Recalls are due fifteen (15) days after the request. For some users this
represents a shortened loan period.
- A $10.00 fine plus replacement fee is charged for items not returned by
the Recall Due Date.
- The replacement fee is canceled if/when the item is returned undamaged.
- Recall fines are strictly enforced.
Renewals
- Items may be renewed as often as needed provided they have no holds or recalls.
- Most items may be renewed online from any location that has internet access
if there are no blocks on your account. To renew online use the My
Account link from the ASU Libraries Catalog.
- Renewals may also be done by bringing the materials to any ASU Library Circulation
Desk or by calling Telephone Renewal.
- Reserves, media and microforms are not renewable. Bring them to any ASU
Library Circulation Desk to inquire about extending your loan.
- The majority of items from the Law Library are not renewable. Those that
are may be renewed two (2) times.
