Access Services

Access Services staff manage and maintain services and processes that support the purchase, management and circulation of Library materials including: acquisition and processing of library materials (other than cataloging), staffing the circulation and information desks, stacks management, digital and traditional course reserves, acquisition and delivery of materials from other libraries, customer accounts including billing, special projects.




Administration

Library Administration manages and maintains services in support of Library staff and the organization including: purchasing and budget management, payroll and leaves, personnel services, coordination of library exhibit space, collection and reporting of statistics, assessment activities, space and building management, property control, staff development and training, planning and organizational development, fund raising and development, special projects.




Collections Council

Collections Council addresses the selection and management of information resources to support teaching, research and creativity at ASU's West campus, especially in support of the curriculum. Council activities address issues of format, access, electronic licensing, resource sharing, and budget. Areas for learning objectives and projects include: study of policies and their applications, special projects.

Instruction Council

Members of the Instruction Council offer instruction to students in library research. Areas for learning objectives and projects include: observation of and assisting with instruction, special projects, targeted research project.

Reference & Research Support Council

RRSC provides one-on-one reference and research services for students, faculty and community borrowers. The Council also manages the public computer workstations, reference resources and space in the Atrium. Areas for learning objectives and projects include: training to provide reference service to Library users at Reference Desk, Reference collection development, in person and online services to library users, user assessment, and special projects in conjunction with other councils.
